I am currently a business woman (I have a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Webster University in St. Louis) but I always had a lifelong passion for cooking and entertaining. Over twelve years ago I was involved in a charity event and as a way to offer something different; a friend asked me to auction off a Creole Dinner to support the organization. This gave me a chance to support the charity but also anopportunity to cook and bring New Orleans food to others, right in the privacy of their own home! I met lots of great people and, of course, they loved the food!
After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, I decided to write a Cookbook. I wanted the recipes that I love so much to be available to share with others as a way to honor my family heritage, especially since I had siblings who lost their homes in this tragedy. It’s not just a Cookbook – it’s a “Storybook” - each recipe has a brief story about my experience eating that dish growing up. This book reflects my family story and our traditions, I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as I do.
